The Bloom family
Alan Bloom and his son Adrian are the only father and son to simultaneously hold the prestigious Victoria Medal of Honour, granted by the Royal Horticulture Society of Britain.

Alan Bloom MBE VMH

The late Alan Bloom MBE VMH was one of the greatest plantsman of the 20th century. He has raised and introduced over 200 plants during his lifetime and his work continues through other members of the Bloom family and new plant introductions from Blooms Of Bressingham. Alan founded the Blooms nursery business and the world famous Blooms of Bressingham brand name.


Adrian Bloom 

Adrian Bloom is Managing Director of Blooms Nurseries ltd, the Bloom family business,and honorary President of Blooms of Bressingham. He and his brother Rob developed the Blooms nursery business from 1962, creating the Blooms of Bressingham brand in 1985. Adrian has travelled widely promoting Blooms perennials in many countries.He was involved in putting up the Blooms Chelsea exhibition for 35 years. He has created the 6 acre garden, Foggy Bottom, that includes 500 varieties of conifers. He is also author of several books. For some years he presented for national television in both the Uk and USA. He has designed many smaller gardens and has photographed collections in North America, Japan, New Zealand and Australia.


Jason Bloom

Jason Bloom studied at Pershore College, then travelled to broaden his experience in North America and Germany before returning to manage the family nursery at Bressingham, growing plants for wholesale distribution including The Bloom Heritage Collection range, available at Blooms of Bressingham Garden Centres. Mostly perennials, The Bloom Heritage Collection has been personally selected by the Bloom family and includes many of the plants seen in the Bressingham Gardens.


Jaime Blake

Jaime Blake, Alan's son-in-law, has been the Curator of the Dell Garden for over 13 years, during which time he has rejuvenated a mature garden and added further planting and varieties whilst preserving the original design. He also carries on the important work of maintaining and developing the collection of plants.
